What Past Interns Say.
Will you get what you need as far as experience? Will you have a chance to try out your skills and see how you do? Here’s what our past interns say about their experience with Hawkins Cloward & Simister.
Solid Experience
“We all feel we got a good, solid experience at Hawkins Cloward & Simister. We learned a lot, did tons of practical work, formed relationships, and built confidence in our abilities to perform on the job.”
Trust and Guidance
“We felt there was a good balance between trust and guidance at Hawkins Cloward & Simister. We knew that the partners had high expectations for us to figure the work out on our own, but there was always someone available if we needed help. My mentors provided a good resource to go to with questions without feeling as if we were interrupting their busy schedule. I loved that the partners kept their doors open, even when they were busy.”
“The atmosphere at the office was great-they joked around enough to have fun, but were serious enough to get the job done. We appreciated the fact that the partners were flexible and understood that we had other things going on in our lives, even though it was busy season. Their biggest concern was the job was done well and in a reasonable time period.”
Part of the Firm
“From the beginning, it was apparent that our co-workers were making a special effort to help each of us feel comfortable in our new surroundings. The mentors have been a wonderful help. Along with giving us career advice, and lending a listening ear, they have taught us so much and have been patient with our countless questions. We really were part of the team.”
Education Applied
“The internship definitely provided a new dimension to our education. We learned a lot of valuable real-world lessons, as well as actual accounting applications.”
Helpful Interaction
“It was good to be able to interact with clients. The interaction provided us with valuable experience for developing relationships with clients later on. This was a good chance to address different questions and look at taxes from the client’s viewpoint.”
“The mentor program was especially helpful in getting us oriented with tax returns. We felt that we could ask even the dumbest questions and they showed the utmost patience in dealing with us–we were really respected by all members of the firm.”
